Finally got tuned!!

Recommended Posts

I finally got my tuned PCM. All I can say is holy crap and I only drove it for about 20 mins. I got the "Tow/Haul Ass" tune and Im inlove w/ my truck ALL over again. The shifts are so hard....WOT shifts are around 5800...the speed limiter is long gone and when I hit that Tow Haul button its like daylight and dark. I got it from Wait4Me Performance out of Warsaw Indiana. $167 shipped to my door. I have been in search of one and I could not be happier.

Mines on the way also from jesse, i figured for $150 you can beat a new tune plus a spare PCM. Should be here within the next few days.

Hey fox, did you ever get this new PCM in yet? If so what do think of the actual tune? $150 for PCM and tune just sounds too good to be true. I would like to hear at least one more postive story about wait4meperformance before I place an order.

Anyone else here get a tune from there and have some feedback yet??

:wtf:

Just got off the phone with Jesse at Wait4mePerformance. It took me all morning to get through. He tells me his phone starts ringing at 7:30am and doesn't stop till about 9pm, and he is getting 200+ emails a day. So if you are interested in his tunes, I wouldn't even bother trying the email route.

He quoted me $157.70 for a new tuned PCM including shipping, and he is about 4 days behind. I just sent him the $$$ via Paypal about 5 minutes ago.

So hopefully I'll have mine next week.

Jesse didn't want my name or any info over the phone, just Paypal the cash and put all the vehicle info in the notes section.

i too just got off the phone with jesse and i got the same story.. i am going to send him money in a bit.. i also told him some of my plans i have for the truck in the future and he says in some cases for big mods you may have to bring the truck or car to him to get the best tune he can do.. so time will tell after i get it and see..

for the guys that have already got a tune from jesse since i forgot to ask him did he send any instruction as to what he has done or anything as far as paper work goes?? just curious

I would love to know the difference between the two as well, but for $157 I felt it would be stupid to not try out Wait4me's tune. That is the only problem I have with PCMforless, Westers, etc. is that I wouldn't think it would take them more than 15 or 20 mins to tune a PCM and yet they charge $300+ for doing it. I can understand the tuning software doesn't come cheap but when you are tuning that many PCMs I would think you could charge a whole lot less for it.

I only talked to Jesse briefly but he struck me as someone who knows his stuff pretty well. I was the head Cadillac tech at a GM dealer for almost 5 years (I work on computers now - alot less grease) so I can usually spot a bullsh*t artist a mile away. ;)

fox_forma got his tune and loves it. To quote from a PM he sent me (hope he doesn't mind):

I havent had the PCM4less tune but two of my buddies have it and my tune is the same, maybe even better in some aspects, my buddies trucks are tuned a little different.

I have heard (in my time lurking about these forums) that ANY tune can be done even better in person. I believe this is mainly because you can see the results live and tweak them some more/less as needed. When people from this forum get together at events here in the north east there is usualy talk of Bryan (PCMforless) being there and doing live tunes for folks.

I forgot to ask about paperwork coming with it too, but I would guess he must include at least some basic instructions and possibly the crankshaft position relearn process. Maybe fox_forma or ChevyMan23 can chime in on this?

:chevy:

I wan't to get a tune but am so confused on what I should get. I tuned my mustang by myself using a twEECer RT. I don't know the difference if I should save my money and get a mail order tune or a software package that tunes via my laptop.
