Said good by to my old buddy last night. We went a lot of fun places together, 180,000 miles worth. Funny how you can get attached to a chunk of metal  . I have had that truck just a few months shy of 12 years. Even my wife was sad to see the ol S-10 go, and she has only known it for 4 years. I guess the vehicle becomes part of the fun when you go fun places, like vacations, adventures, trips to the mountains.

:sigh: It's always sad to see something your attached to have to go... I am sure someone else will get to enjoy her for a while! Whenever you get depressed about it, go hop in your new SS! I think that might help ease the sorrow a little bit!:seeya:

The picture of your "old buddy" says a lot. For nearly 12 years it looks as if you took really good care of "old buddy". Old Buddy still looks pretty for the age and miles. You know that really is all any of our "buddies" can ask for is to take good care of them and usually they will return the favor

Dave,

I can't believe you kept your old truck that long. Way to go. I wish I could do that. Trading as often as I do is such a waste of money but it's almost like a drug for me - to get the newest, fastest, greatest whatever's hot at the moment vehicle. That smart thing to do is keep them like you do. No wonder you don't worry about the cost of your mods. You keep it so long the cost of the additions doesn't matter.

I had an old buddy that me and my dad had for 10 years was a 91 s-10 blazer and i traded it for a 00 silverado. i loved the new truck but it wasn't the blaze, i tried to go back 2 weeks later to buy it and it was gone :sigh: . pictures and memories will last though.

To be honest, I don't miss the rough, noisy ride and comparatively slow acceleration. Just sentimental, I guess. But I seem to be keeping my vehicles for so long that it allows me to be a bit extravagant when buying the next :D On the plus side, inflation seems to have offset the devaluation of the old S-10. I paid about $14,000 for it (with taxes, etc) and sold it for $2400. About 17% it's original cost.

I am looking forward to many new adventures in my LITL SS :chevy:

Gee, I thought I might be the only one who had grown attached to a hunk of metal with wheels. After I got the new SS, I prepped my '94 Chevy X-Cab K10 for sale. It had custom 2-tone paint, DeeZee boards, big-ass on/off road white-lettered tires ................ and it looked like a million bucks when I took some pictures of it for the local swap paper.

Two people came to look at it - and BOTH of them wanted it. The lucky dog that got that truck has many good years ahead of him if he takes half as good a care of it as I did. I felt kinda bad when I dropped it off and picked up my check - - - the money didn't make me feel all that much better.

The first morning I went out to the garage, and my "old buddy" wasn't there, I really had an empty feeling. :( If it had made any sense, I should have kept that old truck. It was one of the best vehicles I have ever owned - - - and it will always look like a million bucks in my memory. In fact - make that two million!

I'll look for that truck when I'm around town - - and I hope the new owner treats it well. I sure did - and it always took good care of me. :sigh:
