pharmb
I know I've read something on this in another thread but I'm curious... Does the SS have an "electronic traction control system"? I know it has a locking rear differential in addition to the ability of the AWD transfer case to manually transfer torque from one shaft to another based on traction. BenKey
Is there a vehicle out there that has AWD and an electronic traction control system? Seems like quite a bit of redundancy. Kind of thought my traction control system was my AWD. At least that was the way I looked at it.
pharmb
That was exactly my thought. Total overkill if it is there. I was thinking there would probably be an override switch too. Is there a vehicle out there that has AWD and an electronic traction control system? Yes, my wife's BMW X5 is FT AWD w/electronic traction control (which has an override button). BenKey
Then the answer is, no, the SS does not.
dcairns
I would say it does have traction control based on gnatgosplat's great post AWD operations

FalconPilot
No electronic TC, just the AWD. Find a steep wet grassy hill. Stop half way up. Stomp on the gas. Wheels spin!!!!! Let off and put just enough gas in to get it mooving. COOL!!! I have never been in any vehicle able to do that on its own. Most tractors have a button to push to lock the diff. Most 4X4s will spin 2 tires. The SS just GO'S!!!! Chad

TedG
That would mean dirt would get all over my truck I know the feeling. Even the slightst bit of dirt makes me crazy. It hasn't rained here since I bought the thing. So the dirtiest it has been is the slight layer of dust that happens out in the parking lot and I am out there with a California car duster. I'm not even close to that anal with my Vette.

I actually screwed up the looks of mine with MUD FLAPS!!! They look bad, but work very well. They are the stock chevy ones.
