mwarren
I was backing out of my garage last night to go get gas for the lawnmower. I had parked my car a little close to the center of the driveway. As I was easing out of the garage I was looking in the drivers side mirror. I was trying to swing around and miss the car and all be damned...hit the passsengers side mirror on the side of the garage. Smashed the glass and bent the whole mirror back Luckily the only thing I had to replace with the mirror and not the whole assembly. The freaking mirror cost me $150, but that is better then the 500-600 or so for the whole thing. I had to replace my passenger mirror assembly after a bolt kicked up on the freeway and punched a hole clean thru... those things definitely aren't cheap. Luckily I have a buddy at the dealership who ordered a replacement w/ his employee discount so it only cost me $400... instead of the $600+ they origianally told me

SS_bnoon_SS
...hit the passsengers side mirror on the side of the garage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Holy smokes! I came really close to doing the same thing backing out of the garage. I brushed the rubber weather stripping sweeps on the side of the garage a few days ago. Now that I know what the mirror assemblies cost, I'll have to be double carefull!!!

Brandon27
One time I was backing my camaro out of the garage and caught the edge of the mirror on the garage door opening. It took the mirror off and broke a chunk off of my front fender. I never found some of the mirror pieces, they sling shot off the car like a rocket:)
