Revenoor
While the wife was gracious and I need wheels fast, I bought an SS but was not able to get the On STar and XM. I really wanted XM for the out in the boonies Texas trips. Question: how difficult/ expensive to self install a factory XM option?

Silvsteve
I was wondering the same thing as well. But if I can figure out a way to have two head units then I will probably go with Sirius (Not owned by Clear Channel). Crutchfield has a special going on. You buy the receiver and get the tuner for free. That saves you a 150 bucks right there. I priced a Kenwood (Satellite/MP3 player) dash and antenna and it was 260 shipped to the house. I have bought from them before and I am very impressed with their prices and service. I just gotta figure out how to have two head units like 919. See here. He used one of these but it might not work since we do not have the built in XM, seperate CD changer, or tape deck. I might just break down and give it a shot though. Crutchfield has a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. So the most I would loose is the 50 bucks for the switch and that could go on Ebay! If you get a quote for the factory setup let us know! Man look at all those links!
Silvsteve
Just got off the phone with Crutchfield. The person I spoke to has Sirius and she loves it. She said her antenna is in the car also. Under her rear window. I bet it work on the front dash also. Worth a shot! She also said her husband has XM and they both like Sirius better. It is 100% commercial free afterall. I had XM in my last truck and I loved it and miss it. She also told me the free tuner deal is until Oct. 11.
Silvsteve
Ok I was bored so I photoshopped 919's interior, hope you don't mind! This is what the kenwood unit might look like if I get it to work:
