SSilverado60
just learning not to hit the button sounds like a better idea to me Not to me. That's why I asked the question. Thanks for the suggestion that I have better "hand management," though. Very helpful. Anytime sometimes common sense is best
schklege
sometimes common sense is best Yep. Too bad GM's design team lacked that very trait in their placement of these controls. I've hit the stupid button too many times and so have my passengers.
Lee
Michael (or anyone who has knowledge of those elect. connectors) I went out there is morning to disconnect that green connector under the drivers seat. No such luck. Even putting the seat in the forward most position there is very little room to work under the seat and I could not get the connector to separate. Generally there is some kind of "locking clip" that holds the male and female ends together but I could not see it. Any suggestions and getting them apart? Thanks
mcwarren
Lee, Try raising the seat cushion all the way and moving the seat all of the way to the rear, work from under the front of the seat. There is a "locking clip" on the opposite side of the attaching side of the connector (gray button that sticks into seat frame). I used my thumbnail to lift this clip away from the body of the connector and then pulled the connector apart. See image below for closeup of connector. The narrow middle portion is the part you want to "raise" just a little with your thumbnail while gently pulling the connector apart. 1badss
Well, I hit mine the day I picked mine up at the Dealer. Left Baltimore, Md (95 degrees outside) and was in a hurry to make a meeting in Reston, Va. About a mile down the road my rear and back was burning up. Cranked down the air to get cooler but never figured out how to shut them off till I got to where I was going. That night, the first thing I did was to learn how they turn on and how to get them off. BenKey
Houston Control, we finally have cool seats in Phoenix. Over. Thanks, Michael. I think you guys have trouble only because you just like pushing buttons. Is it only the old guys having this problem. Seems to be.

ericwf
I opted for the "hand management" route. Of couse I won't get it mastered until a nice cold morning in Dec when I'll wish I hadn't!!
Staggerlee
Seems the top seat feeds off the seat bottom. This is a green connector on the one I seen near the back console. The large gray one is the main one. If you can get in behind there and disconnect the gray it should stop them from coming on. I have this same problem with it coming on every 5 minutes or so. It's killer in the summertime, and you must look away from the road to find the switch. It's worse after a rain like today. I am going to try and reach mine without taking out the seat bolts today. The fuse that goes to the seat warmers, also go to the ign. Lee
eberhama
I'm guessing he's figured it out in the 13 years since this thread was started.
