Yeah, I hear ya on the gear ratio and unsprung weight. I've been eyeing the American Racing RTS wheels lately... just need to find out their weight before going through with any purchase. 105 pound of unsprung weight is a HUGE difference! :driving:

 

Tread design has the most to do with tire noise though, plus I will have a fully deadened interior this summer to kill even more road noise.

 

Dynamat is HEAVY .... but it will probably be worth it for the ear comfort.

The road noise is not that bad, I think it has more to do with the actual switch in tires more than the drop. Where these trucks need the Dynamat is on the roof, it sure gets hot hot hot in that cab during the summer. :sick:

Yeah, but what's 20-30 pound of sound deadening material on a mid 5,xxx pound truck? I'm only doing the roof and rear cab panels... Plus, I'm removing the rear bumper and installing a roll pan to offset the stereo weight... then there's the cam/heads/headers/exhaust/intake that's coming as well to offset it even further. :cool:
