BOB47
That's me now. 50 and unemployed. After 12 years of working for 1 company I finally had had enough of the BS. So 1 week ago I gave them my 2 weeks notice and today they said not to come back next week. So much for trying to leave on a good note. Pretty dumb thing to do I guess, but as they say "you gotta do what you gotta do". We'll be allright financially for a while so I'm gonna take about a month off before I get serious about looking for something else. Haven't had more than 2 consecutive weeks off in over 35 years so I figure I'm due for a little rest. Now I've got to figure out what I want to do next. Something different for sure. Got a couple offers from friends but they are similar to what I have been doing and I'm looking for something with less stress. Any suggestions? But best of luck getting situated, like you said though theres only so much one can take so you did what you had to do

Krambo
Best of luck. Sometimes it takes a move like this to really appreciate what you were missing. One day,...one day I will do the same and do something I really enjoy instead of chasing dollar signs.
Dylan06SS
hmmmmm.... jobs that are low stress that a recently unemployed guy at 50 can do??? Lemme think.... Porn star What were you doing before?? Not suggesting to get back into the same field again, but maybe that experience could lead you into a feild of work related, but differnt to it. She suggested that I could model for those body-building ads. Says I'm perfect for the "before" shots. My recent work experience is in machining and management. Would only go back to that for a pretty hefty increase in pay. Even then, I'm not sure I want to do that anymore. I also have 10 years exp. managing a camera store and a degree in photography. That's more along the lines of where my heads at right now.
