fuganator
I was thinking about running my truck at the dragstrip this week and I was wondering if I would improve my times at all if I ran some 98 octane unleaded gas that one of the stations here has. Also, if I did put this in my truck, would I do any harm to it otherwise??? Edited July 10, 2006 by fuganator (see edit history)
Krambo
Asuming that you have the same tune with the 98 Octane,...no real gain unless your current timing was advanced to the point of KR where the 98 will most likely get it under control. Good for finding out if you have false KR or not as well. Is the 98 unleaded? FWIW, I was able to advance the timing with "powermist" 109 Octane and improve my ET by just under 2 tenths. Not worth all of the trouble so I just max out with the 93 Octane pump gas and be done with it.
BenKey
Make a run without, log the run and see if you are getting KR. If you are, put some in and run it with the 98.
