TheGunny
just out of curiosity is the 408 and 6.0 bored out and do people use the LQ9? Have people done LS2 swapps and how much of an improvement is that? When doing an engine swapp what all has to be changed and modified? 04CHASE
ta 408 is a stroked and bored lq9 block. some have done the ls2 block but its a bit moreexpensive and an iron block can handle more stress than an aluminum block like forced induction and big amounts of nitrous. the ls2 would be a good choice for weight saving though. i think it would be interesting to see someonoe try the l92(6.2 l) block from the new gm's full sized suv's. BenKey
A 408 is actually just a 6.0L block. A 6.0L block does not become a LQ9/LQ4 until rotating is assy is added with the 317 heads. So if you were looking to do a 408, it could be done with any 6.0L block. The engine code doesn't have much to do with it. A 408 is a .030" bored 6.0L - 4" stroke.
