motoracer204
Is anyone using the 305/45/22 i love this tire size, if anyone is using this tire on at least a 2-2 droped SS(as is mine) i'd love some feedback i know they would work on a stocker but not sure now since i've just lowered the truck. I'm afraid they'll rub to bad i dont mind a little tire rub but I dont wanna do any damgae, or waste any money on tires i cant use, Any advice guys throw it at me, you guys havent steered me wrong yet
pnblwzd
I had that size on an Escalade w/Momo Storms, and it rubbed even at stock height.
04CHASE
go with 305/40/22 you shouldnt have any trouble , most have had great luck with them and they are almost identicle to stock height!
motoracer204
what about a tire with the same sidewall but not as wide?
bake90
Since the "45" in 305/45/22 is merely the percentage of the width (in mm) of the tire. A 285/45/22 would not have the same section height as a 305/45/22. So lets do the math. 305mm X .45(45%) = 137.25mm Sidewall Height 285mm X .45(45%) = 128.25mm Sidewall Height 305mm X .40(40%) = 122 mm Sidewall height With the 305/40/22 you are only losing 15mm X 2 (for top and bottom sidewall) = 30mm. So you will be losing a total of 3cm of sidewall compared to a 305/45/22 or 1.2cm as compared to say a 285/45/22. Not really that much of a difference to minimize rubbing. I know when I finally get around to putting 22's on my truck I will be going with 305/40/22. Hopefully that clears things up a bit.

Jonmalibuss
Alot of your rubbing issues have to do with the backspace of the wheel too.
motoracer204
so should i order a wheel with a certian amount of backspacing, because the wheel im looking at if i read the site right i think the backspacing is 5.761 i dont know much about wheels but im tryin
