lucky7_93021
So I used to get about 300 miles to a tank before the gas light came on... ever since I got a check engine light with a code for the O2 sensor.... I've been getting 330-345 miles on a tank. The only think that changed was the check engine light. Any ideas?
Z4pp
It may be because the computer turns down your trucks power when the check engine light comes on? I'm not sure dont quote me on this.
lucky7_93021
Yeah I thought it might be something like that but I haven't noticed a power loss. Oh well, the light will go off when I put on the headers and replace the o2 sensor... but until then I'll just enjoy the free mpg.
11H
maybe it's because you have a bad front 02 (B1 or B2) and the rear o2 sensor is telling you the front sensor is bad ... which would set your MIL ... Enjoy your lean condition and maybe your too lean condition ... Edited October 30, 2006 by 11H (see edit history)
H8R
Maybe you are driving it easier now you noticed a light, and u havent realized yourself doing it!
lucky7_93021
It is the front o2... B2 Sensor 1... so the lean condition sounds like the issue. I did start to drive it easy until I found out it was the o2. I got a sweet deal on a brand new OEM sensor.. like 15 bucks on ebay... so when I do my headers next week it should be fixed.
