misterp Posted October 31, 2006 Report Share Posted October 31, 2006 AT: "attention modem" (ie what follows is a command) X4: modem reports reason for not being able to establish connection S7=5: pause 5-secs before dialing L1: line speed (probably the lowest speed the modem supports, 300bps) S8=5: pause 5-secs at comma in phone number DT: set dialing mode to touch-tone The S-register commands are a guess, and their function will be specific to the brand/model of modem so I might be wrong about them. Find the model number of your modem (or the chipset used) and search the internet, there are LOTS of pages with this information. Mr. P.
