Stock cam installation

Recommended Posts

I am trying to get a baseline for the valve events before I select a new cam.

Does anyone know the installed Intake Center Line for the stock cam?

I know the LSA is 116 but wondering if it installed straight up (at 116) or +4 (at 120) or ????

TIA,

Greg

I have found that the ICL is 115 degrees.

This leads to .050 events of:

Intake Valve Close: 33 ABDC

Exhaust Valve Open: 40.5 BBDC

Intake Valve Open: 17 ATDC

Exhaust Valve Close: 13.5 BTDC

Overlap: -30.5 degrees (.006 overlap is about 22 degrees)

I didn't understand the BS flag either.

Dude , why do u do this ? The BS Flag?

It's no reason to do this!

He does this because he is a clueless dumbass.

The LSA(lobe separation angle) is ground into the cam, and will not change. What you're reffering to with the +/-4 degrees are advancing or retarding the timing events.

:nono: LSA is not the same as ICL; the ICL is exactly where the cam maker wants you to install the cam (using a degree wheel).
