detjoe
Pretty sure they are the same Engine as the SSS LQ9 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would like to know, but my brother's Denali SUV had the LQ4, there anr not many differences between the engines
StealthSS
I _believe_ the only difference is that LQ9 has aluminum heads, while the LQ4 is all iron.
H8R
The head material is differnt as well as the port design, the lq9 uses ls6 style head ports but have larger chambers. lower compression
04CHASE
the lq4 and lq9 both have 317 heads, the difference is in the piston and rods. both have iron block aluminum heads. the lq9 has higher compression. it depends what year denali it was. the ex cab pre 2005 pick up had the lq4 , in 2005 when the denali sierra changed to crew cab they got the lq9.
