In Shakespeare's time, mattresses were secured on bed frames by ropes.

This one is wrong (not that all of the others are right). The "Goodnight sleep tight" comes from early days of sleeping in beds with the covers tucked in "tight" to your body. This was done to keep large bugs and small kritters from getting into bed with you as well as to keep out the cold air in winter months.

This one is wrong (not that all of the others are right). The "Goodnight sleep tight" comes from early days of sleeping in beds with the covers tucked in "tight" to your body. Thats what I thought. sleep tight dont let the bed bugs bite. :dunno:
