b-dog
Ok, here the deal..... Bought me a 04 SSS. It was a toss up between that or the SRT-10 Ram. Of course I was sold on the AWD. So now I'm driving to work last night and hear the whining/squealing noise as I'm coasting at just under 70mph. Of course when I let off the gas it goes away. Sigh. And of course I have all the other "normal" sounds when I'm making a slow turn, as well as a delay in power when taking off from a dead stop. Happy times!!! So I come here and I see the miriad of trans problems the loyal GM customers have had. So what should I do? I really dont want to have to have a chronic problem child of a truck. I also have the option to return the truck no questions asked before 5 days. Today is day 3..... So it wont hurt my feelings to go back to the Dodge. What do you guys think? Keep the SS and risk the headache or dump it clean and clear for something else?
ItsJac
The noise your hearing with the front end is a knowed problem... Most likley will have to be rebuilt to gte the noise gnoe... I was lucky on mine and its was only the carrier bearings... Its up to you if you want to return it... How many miles are on it?
b-dog
20k miles... man i really love this truck!!! Just a shame they couldnt get this problem right, otherwise it would be a perfect vehicle. Anyways i called a few dealerships around town. All I could get out of them was a transfer back to the receptionist to schedule a drop off. Pfft...I'm not waiting around a couple days to find out I wont get the truck back until next week. By that time the sale will be set in stone and I'm driving a rental car while the truck I just bought is in the shop. Seems like this will be a normal thing for me if I keep this truck. Oh well I guess I'll be seein u guys at the premium pump with my V10, lol
WI_Dave
See if they will fix it as a term of the sale.

b-dog
Ya I realize that every vehicle is gonna have problems... But come on. I could care less about the warranty. Time is money. Ive seen some posts on here with these problems occuring with VERY low miles. Seems like this warranty is the equivalent of a reach-around. You could care less about warranty. Doea this mean you'd rather pay for the repairs than get it done for free? Time is money, then you must have alot more money than time. Warranty is the equivalent of a reach around? WTF does that mean?
