misterp
Always keep your paint as clean as you can. When the grit builds up too much you will seriously damage your paint washing it, it will be unavoidable. So yes do what you can to keep the grit down, don't let the truck get too dirty. Even garaged in good weather do not go more than 14 days between washings. Mr. P.
eamonnschevy
i wash my truck at least once a week and wax it at least every 2nd week summer and winter, when the weather gets real bad i get a buddy who owns a detail shop to wash and wax it for me i also get him to clay bar the truck twice a year Spring and Fall which keeps the paint looking good... btw,a clean truck is a fast truck airflow goes over shiney paint better

vmax2fast
Go to coin opperated car washes, Just make sure it's not cold enough to freeze doors or locks shut etc. Anything below 10 degrees is questionable.
Stitches040
I agree ... A clean truck is a Happy Truck!!!!! I am spoiled though ... I get to use my Town's DPW building. Heated pressure washer. It has a complete wash bay, with all the stuff you need. Glass Cleaner, soap, washer fluid, etc ... During the Winter, I usually go in on Sunday night. Wash the truck and chamy (sp) it. Then I let it dry all night long, while I go on patrol. In the AM, I go pick it up all nice and dry !!!! 06redSSrwd
i always take mine to the touch free wash during the day, then that same night i give it a bath. i like the touch free wash b/c it washes the undercarriage, and it gets a good majority of the dirt/dust/grime etc. off so when i go to wash it i'm not so worried about passing all the particles over my paint while soaping (which in turn creates micro scratches) and when i wash i never just re-wet my sponge in the bucket, i rinse it off first and then dip it in the soapy water so that all the dirt etc. does not build up in the bucket. and yea, i am a bit anal.
