ShortBus
Well I recently did my taxes and as much as I'd like to supercharge the SS I'm to cheap to use all the money I got back. HOWEVER, I would like to buy a new toy. I'm an avid hunter and own many rifles. I recently aquired my first handgun as well. Now I'm looking for more of a "fun" rifle to buy. Something that can be modded to look more military like would be my choice. I'm looking at ar-15's, SKS's and ak-47's. Any thoughts or advice? ShortBus
Well I'm gonna rant here for a few seconds since I'm sick and f-ing tired of crap like this happening to me. As many of you know I own my own buisness. I have been in a customer service based enviroment all of my life and belive highly that the customer comes first. Here's where it gets funny. I ordered a handgun from Gander Mountain in april of last year. Never heard anything back from them at all so I wrote the deal off. Come christmas time I went into the store to do some shopping for relatives and happen to look in the gun case on a whim. Low and behold there is the EXACT model and spec gun that I ordered 7 monthes prior. So I ask to speak to the manager, and after a 30 minute "debate" I get 100 dollars off the deal and his apology. This was my first bad incident with their store. So last night after having my taxes done I decided to go buy an ar-15. The keep them in stock and I knew they had a model I was interested in. I get there and begin to speak to the guy behind the counter when he points at his name tag. He's the fishing dept. manager and can not help me. The gun guy went to lunch and would be back in an hour, feel free to wait for him. Now you tell me if someone walks to your door with 1300 bucks in cash, are you gonna tell him to wait an hour cause you can't help him? WTF? This isn't a little store is a corporate chain! I was so pissed I walked out and probably will not go back.
ShortBus
well I made my mind up. Actually Gander Mountain did. There are some really crappy gun laws in the state of maryland including a 7-10 wait on any rifle that "looks" like an assault rifle. So I went to a local gunshop instead and was treated 100 times better and ended up with this. Little known to me Smith & Wesson have gotten into the tactical market in a big way and I loved it at first sight. It's .223 and cheap to shoot and some how came with the 30 round clip so it'll be a lot of fun. ShortBus
the colt models seemed nice. I really didn't like the feel of the bushmaster or armalite models. This thing blew me away with how light it was and the 6 postion stock. Cost me 1150 out the door.

Stitches040
Hey ShortBus ... How about a nice Ruger, Mini-14? Same caliber, shooting a .223 Rem. You can get 20, 30, 40, and I think a 50 round clip for them. Since the assault weapon ban has been lifted by congress. You can get a nice little colapsable stock for them. Really nice gun. We have done away with the Rem. 1187 12ga. and went with all Mini's in the cruisers. Short change too to own one. Just a thought. Link 1 Link 2 Link 3 - This is the One you Want!!!! man you guys sucks we cant have any assault rifles here in governator land. its some bs , we cant even own a .50 cal. Sorry Chase ... I guess you won't be getting that Magnum 500, S&W .50 cal revolver they have out?? Link 1 Link

Stitches040
"AK-47 when you absolutely, positively gots to kill every muthaf*cker in the room" Not to spoil your liking ... But the AK-47 is prone to major problems. Due to their mass production in China and Russia, the AK-47 tends to Jam, misfire and have a boatload of Malfunctioning issues.
