haul@ss
may be a repost but i just found this.. http://www.automobilemag.com/auto_shows/20..._equinox_sport/ looks like ss styling.. why would they do this? i just feel like "ss" doesnt even really mean anything anymore when chevy just throws the badges on just any car.. i know it doesnt say "ss" but the style pretty much looks like one.. i dont know, im just gonna stop now.. what do yall think? BlackSS04
i don't think it looks too bad. it does come with a 6 speed auto so thats always a plus. i would never buy one though, thats for damn sure.
StealthSS
They seem to have decided that SS will only go on serious performance vehicles. Dont know what that means for the Cobalt, but otherwise its all good with me. The car looks okay, but I dont want any compact SUV-tiny wagon crossover thing. Dylan06SS
The DOHC unit makes 263 horsepower - a healthy 42% more than the base engine styling improvements, amenity improvments, and 42% more power... seems like a worthy SS combination to me. StealthSS
My 90 model 454SS did about that Eqinox and SS dont gel with me. It looks good, but only as good as the guy who puts an SS bumper on his LS. I think 'Sport' will do fine for the Equinox, because in LSWorld, nothing with under 345 hp should have SS on it. Vtec Max
This thing would need a v8 to even be considered SS potential
NebraSSka truck
I hope GM is off the "SS" bandwagon. The Malibu Maxx SS was the last vehicle not worthy of an SS badge. I side with those who say Sport is more appropriate. Edited February 12, 2007 by NebraSSka truck (see edit history)

I side with those who say Sport is more appropriate. honestly i liked the maxx SS, but i always liked wagons when i was younger i had a 66 impala wagon with a factory 396/th400 and 12bolt-posi all original. and when you remember that in 1972 you could get a chevelle ss wagon, it would fit right in. this has come up a million times before, and i can run down a list if you would like. but the SS stands for super sport not super fast, many of the original ss's were nowhere near a "muscle car" and were just the sportier version of it's particular modle line. Looks like a chick car to me. mazda miata, bmw Z3, vw bug.. those are chick cars to me. when i was a kid we had a 73 mercury colony park (my bro was born in 75 me in 80) and it was "HUGE" had a 460 in it. i always liked it (had a one my self). i guess theres something cool about having a fast car that no one would ever think is fast, at least to me anyway. but like you said to each there own. ss04Flores
they need to stop with the slaping badges on everythin. eventho this doesnt have the ss on it but u can tell right away what direction there goin. like mentioned before it seems like an ss is not a real big deal anymore.IMO
