Radar

Due to my latest ticket :banghead: on the way home from last Saturdays meet at the track I have decided its time to buy a radar detector. :smash: I think I want the Valintine1 but I’m not to sure if that’s the best one for the money so I was wondering what you guys are running or have had in the past. I had a cobra back in the day and let it go with the last truck because it was the second time the speaker went out in it and it was older technology and I haven’t got a new one yet. And I know if I would just slow my roll I would fix the ticket issue but on another note SS doesn’t mean Super Slow and I’m not 90 years old yet so screw that it’s too much fun to drive fast. :driving:

Thanks.

Chris- :chevy:

P.S. A Valintine1 would be a great Valintines present huh? :jester:

:withstupid: Valentine One. If you cannot swing that a close second is the top of the line Bel Vector (I currently have one) or top of the line Passport (8500???). Do not get a battery-operated one (not powerful enough) and IMO all other brands/models are not worth the price. And get a copy of The Speeders Guide to Avoiding Tickets off Amazon, it will very much change the way you look at driving.

Ive heard good things of both the valentine and passport 8500, first I need to get me my alarm. Then I will be picking one up before other big mods go in the truck. I have gotten two speeding tickets since Ive owned the truck....two too many. ;)

my escort solo s2 is great, it's about the same price as the valentine, it has already paid for itself three fold in the 2 months i've had it. It's easy (no wires or anything, it runs on battery) to use, remove from one car to another, i use the clip for the vanity mirror instead of the windshield sucker and it's great. I just put in lithium energizer batteries after using up the ones it came with and the battery lasts forever. I would recommend the Escort Solo S2 if you need something you need to take in and out easily ( i need that because i go places where i don't want my radar visible so i'll take it out and put in my girl's bag or something) and it really senses anything from very, and i mean very far away. It can also observe up to 10 or 12 bands ( i don't remember how much) at the same time when programmed into expert mode (just be sure you understand radars, their different bands and how they work before programming it into expert mode). It's really a great radar, the only other one i would own would be a valentine. good luck on your decision, if you go with any one of those two, you'll be more than fine.

the valentine is really the only one worth owning. I think it was car and driver that did a test on radar dectors a while back, and the V1 was picking up signals as muchas a 1/4 earlier than any of the others. Also alot less false alarms in my expirence with it compared to the escort I had before. My .02
