matthewt
Hi all, I dont know where to post this so here goes.. Does anyone have any recommendations for me as to where i can get custom billet pieces made? The previous owner who had my truck drilled into the side of the bed and mounted cleat tiedowns. So i can either repaint the bed and fill in the hole($1500) or get low profile billet pieces made in the shape of the cleats powdercoated black so they look decent with the bed of the truck. Thanks and im sorry for posting this here.
kaotik1
The stake pockets? They make a fill kit for that. I just powdercoated a set for a member here.
matthewt
No not the pockets. This guy drilled in to the side of the bed on the outside about 1" down from the top of the bedrail( the part that angles down a little bit) What to do??? kissfans03ss
I think what he is trying to say is that the previous owner screwed the tiedowns on the outside of the truck rather than on the inside of the bed rail so you were actually able to see the cleats on the exterior of the bed almost like some guys that strap things down on the outside of their beds rather than inside.just picture a boat cleat screwed to the outside of your truck so its always in view. kaotik1
Ouch that looks like it hurts... I dont think you will find a bed rail to go down that far. That looks like a repair job, and I would get the truck wet sanded while you are at it to fix up the paint.
matthewt
Im just looking for someone to make me a piece cut in the exact shape of the shape about 1/4" thick or thinner and then ill powdercoat it black. The paint does look bad in that pic but its not. Thanks to Onyx SS for helping me with the pics and to whomever can point me in the right direction. kaotik1
Home Depot pick up some flat stock, and use the hold down as a template. Cut it to shape drill holes, get them coated, use stainless hardware to bolt them new piece on.
