ZZebes
Well i know i dont own an SS but i need some trany advice, i talked to century transmission in Houston Texas about a rebuild. and they told me right around 3 grand to do a complete rebuild with Beast sunshell and all and i asked about the 5 gear planetaries and he told me that my 06 had a 4l65e not a 4l60e with my 5.3L i am really confused because i thought that i had the 4l60e which in turn has the 4 gear planetary

Thats one of the diffrences between the 60 and 65. Honestly that price sounds a little high if he is not replacing hard parts..
ZZebes
That is a complete rebuild with all hardened and high-po parts and i know thats the difference but i am going to have to check my RPO's tommorow to figure it out
misterp
That's a tad on the high side IMO, unless prices have gone up for parts since I had mine done. I spent a little over 3-grand for mine and that included a TCS 2800 converter; the trans was a 4L60E build with 5-pinion planetaries, beast shell, hardened shafts, kevlar bands/clutches, Transgo shift kit, Vette 2nd & Sonnax billet 4th servos, etc etc etc and 12-month warranty. At the time I spent everything I had for the tranny, like I was skimping on groceries for a couple months at the time and I am soooo glad I did it, the hardened tranny is by far the best thing I've done to the truck hands down. zippy
I would not go through them. One of the older members here had a huge issue with them. His name was 02Denali.
