Is a 3.0 pulley safe for my trans?

Recommended Posts

The 3.3 is ok for now but I'm already looking to get more boost. Can my trans handle a 3.0 pulley? I have a zippy shift kit/servos and a TBTC. I don't want to get a built trans for awhile since I dropped a lot on the radix setup already. Hard to tell the wife well I think I'll spend $3K on my truck lol  What's the safest pulley to run on my trans with the mods I have?

Rule of thumb: The life of your tranny is inversly proportional to the amount of power you make (everything else being the same). With tuning, going to the 3.0 pulley isn't going to add a "ton" of power so I say go for it!

BTW, I had a STOCK tranny spinning the 2.8" pulley and a ton of other mods. She held up but it depends alot on operator :driving:

Sounds good. I don't run it hard.
