KOPO
Hello everyone, I just purchased a 03 Victory Red SS yesterday and I need help with programming a used key fob. I can’t seem to get the truck to recognize the program mode with the hold the unlock button and cycle the ignition on and off. Thx Jason

KOPO
http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...;hl=programming Thanks and Yes, I saw this post before I posted my topic. For some reason my truck will not recognize that I'm trying to do just that.
agreif
guys, long time lurker and my dad finally gave me a reason to post. my dad just got a "new" 2004 Silverado SS. Here is his question, defenitely not my area of expertice. The remote zapper on the truck behaves backward from what it's supposed to. When you lock it, it's supposed to chirp the horn if you press the lock button twice to confirm locking. It doesn't do that. When you unlock it, it unlocks the driver door if you press it once, and unlocks both doors if you press it twice. However, it also chirps the horn when you press unlock twice, and the manual says nothing about that. Seems like the two press functions are reversed. I know on your brothers Lancer it is programmable but I can't find anything like that for GM Truck keyless remotes. Any ideas?

You can find the programming options for the horn/lights in the DIC when you're in the user options. There are programmable options for lights/horn during lock and during unlock (seperately). Let us know how it works out!
Fireman31
.......When you unlock it, it unlocks the driver door if you press it once, and unlocks both doors if you press it twice. However, it also chirps the horn when you press unlock twice, and the manual says nothing about that.......... Any ideas? My SSS does that also, most GM vehicles are set up to unlock just the drivers door on 1 press of unlock, and everything on 2. The GTP I had was the same way. As far as the horn chirps go, like Rausche said, it can be adjusted through the DIC (driver information center) personal programming mode.......... Thx Jason compare the Model # on the back of your remote (the one that came with he truck) to the used keyfobs Model #...........I believe the number has to be the same in order for the remote to work.....there were different models for different years so on and so forth, even though they all look pretty much the same.......if all else fails stop by your local Chevy dealer and show them both remotes, they should be able to program it in for you in 10 minutes tops, or get you the right remote......... tgreif
Glad to hear it... There are a ton of fun options in there too... Thanks for the tip. I'm agreif's pop. You are right, there's more options in there than any sane person would need. I just upgraded to an 04 SS from my old 92 silverado. Only thing programmable in that old guy was the radio and clock setting. Makes me feel very old, which of course I probably am. But this SS kinda takes me back to my gearhead days in the mid 60s musclecar era. Fast is good.
Rausche
I think that that's exactly what GM wants to hear about this truck... And I definitely feel the same way: fast is very good.
Hankg42
The programming on my DIC and key fob seem inconsistent. Sometimes my doors lock automatically when I start the truck. Sometimes it's when I take it out of "Park". To my knowledge, I changed no settings. It caused me to lock the keys in the truck once last winter.
