Chevcup47
Im just wondering what kind of tune or upgrades i might be able to do. without spending alot and having the truck stay mostly stock. im wanting to keep it all like it is due to it being a special addition. just want a little more out of it for fun and so i can still use it as my everyday truck and tow my race car. any help would be great. thanks dale. Red03SillSS
gowheatley.com----great prices, great results. Why do you want to stay stock? Id go with the Tune and Exhaust. So it will go good and sound good. Maybe Cold Air intake. Other than that, if you want to stay stock I wouldnt change much stiff up. Go with GMPP so that the things you do change will still be GM parts.
Chevcup47
Thanks for the info will check it out. just talked to a buddy of mine that has an exhaust shop. looking at changing out the stock muffler for 2 flowmaster 40s but keeping the stock tail pipe and tip. will also look into a new air box to help it breathe a bit better. not looking for really big gains just a few small things nothing major. thanks again for your help. misterp
I would encourage you go with the Corsa or GMPP exhaust as they bolt in place of the factory catback, I personally think 20-years from now they will be seen as "period correct modifications" so you'll be ok if not a little better-off in your Barret-Jackson value because a buyer could have drove one of these trucks off the GM lot with either of those systems installed. Plus I have to admit upfront here that I prefer the Corsa Touring sound over all others so I am biased, just know that. But a lot of guys like that flowmaster sound and that's cool too. Whichever system you decide you can maintain the stock look by having the factory SS tip re-welded onto the tailpipe. Also do yourself a favor and have the tip raised, why the factory puts them almost dragging on the ground I dunno but the appearance can be greatly improved raising the tip closer to the body. CAI - you do want to get a good one, just save the original in the attic. And for sure get a GOOD tune. Mr. P. Chevcup47
Thanks Mr.P i was also thinking about raising the stock tip while doing the muffler change. i dont think i can go wrong with the muffler deal my buddy told me hed only charge 100.00 for the 2 mufflers labor and all. so this may be my first step and see where it goes from there .............Dale

Definitely reposition the tip; turbocody did that on his SSI and looks fantastic.
