Right now i have an 03 mercury marauder that im keeping as a sunday driver. Ive been wanting a pickup for a while now, and love the performance aspest of the ss. I was wondering what i should lookout for when buying an ss. Its going to be used, probably an 04. It has to be an awd version as well, i can do rwd. I found some locally on auto trader for about $2345 witj 27k miles on it. fast4popper Posted February 27, 2007 Report Share Posted February 27, 2007 welcome to the group. here are some things that I have had to fix. others have had these too, some more than others. steering wheel clunk/grind. there is finally a fix for this instrament cluster goin out or locking up. price is about 300 to fix wiper controller will keep the wipers on. bout 100 to fix. and just general wear and tear stuff. like paint on the knobs and buttons. thats really about it. good luck!! dcairns Posted March 1, 2007 Report Share Posted March 1, 2007 Excellent taste in color Since it looks like the previous owner did some grill mods, you might want to check for indications that other mods were done and removed. Like freshly turned bolts on the intake manifold might indicate the removal of a supercharger. That would warrent some extra inspection to see if the engine suffered any damage from it. NashSS Posted March 1, 2007 Report Share Posted March 1, 2007 Yeah, you can notice the grill and the headlights are different as well. Maybe its just me but it looks like its lowered also.
