I bought mine new is Sept of 03 and I paid it off early, last year. My payments were $330 per month for 48 months, but I put $17K down. My last truck got totaled and was almost paid for ($2100), so I got a decent check from the insurance company. I used all of that money and put some with it for my down payment. I hate being in debt! I'm trying really hard to have my house paid off after six years.

Payments don't mean anything. You can alter the other numbers to make what ever payment you want. The biggest thing is the interest rate and the term. If you obtained a low interest rate and your term was 5 years or less you should be fine ... you will have to hold on to it for at least 2-3 years to break even though. The truck will never be a collectors items, so if you are expecting that ... don't. It may not have a high resale value in general either ... but to certain types of people the truck is very desirable.

Where I am from ( wyoming ) the SS doesn't have a whole lot of value ... since trucks around here are used for hauling, working, offroading ... a lowered 1500 with plastic rocker panels and 20's don't hold up too well to that. But if you find the right buyer they will hold their value ... especially if you take care of it and don't mod the shit out of it.

The best advice I can give is this ......... Just enjoy the truck and don't worry if you got screwed or not ... it doesn't matter .... much like fuel economy .... just drive the damn truck and love every minute of.

$17k down, $355/month for 60 months at 0% int - purchased July '03.

In hindsight, since I'm using their money for free, I should have financed the entire amount at 0% with nothing down and banked the $17k to get interest. I wasn't thinking along those lines at the time though, and didn't want a high payment.
