Bonj87
id like to reclaim my old 1999 silverado.. it was my dad's and i inherited it after he passed away. like a fool (some would say im not a fool), i traded it in on my SSS. i would like to know, since I have the VIN, if there's a way to track it down.. id like to see if the current owners would sell it back to me. WI_Dave
Maybe the DMV?
Big O
I was thinking DMV also ......... according to the first site I got with Google http://www.abika.com/Reports/vehicleownership.htm Vehicles produced after 1981 had their Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) recorded buy the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) almost from the moment they first set a tire on a public highway. Every time the car has any modifications made to the title, its recorded buy the DMV. That includes, emissions and safety inspections as well as change of owners and addresses Edited March 2, 2007 by Big O (see edit history)
hot rod truck
A Carfax report would be helpful if it's in another state other than where you were when you sold it. DMV if you think it's still in Illinois

04silveradoclone07ss
i bet the new owner would let it go for less. just tell him the story about your dad, and that you want it back as a setimental peice. unless he is a di** he should cut a good break..
