12'SROCK
there is 61 ci in a liter. example. 7.0L X 61=427ci or 427ci / 61=7.0L

If our engines actually displaced exactly 6 liters, they would be 366's, but they are not quite 6.0 liters. Just like the old 350's were called 5.7 and the new 346's are also called 5.7's, when really the old 350's are over 5.7xxxxxxxx and the new 346's are actually 5.6xxxxxxx. They just round up or down as they see fit.
12'SROCK
For some odd reason they do round up in size vs. the liter. Like the 85' IROC-Z had a true 5.0L=305ci but ford had there 5.0=302ci.

Like the 85' IROC-Z had a true 5.0L=305ci but ford had there 5.0=302ci. yes but a 5.0 is really a 4.9l but since ford had the 300ci I6 which was 4.9 so they rounded up and vannila ice got famous Edited March 3, 2007 by Quik (see edit history)

That song wouldn't sound right saying 4.9. Not that it sounds right at all.
