misterp
Hell yes it's night and day difference. The zippy kit is top drawer. Another alternative is the Corvette Servo combined with the Transgo HD2C kit and Transgo separator plate (all on eBay, about $130). The straight Superior kit is also very good but I don't know parts info or pricing for it... Also some of the major tranny specialists will have kits available, give a call to CK Performance, or PATC (transmissioncenter.net, they sell a "4L60E wake-up kit"), and you might also see what FLT sells too. I'd suggest a zippy shift kit and upgraded TC. I've got the TBTC in mine and it's a great mod for the money. You can really feel the difference. I got estimates from $300 to $700 to install my zippy shift kit/TBTC. I ended up paying $500 for a pretty good shop about 30 miles away. brobradh77
I have the Zippy shift kit and billet servo I would go billet you can be more aggressive with it. I also had a Yank TC put in as SSThunder said you can really feel a difference along with a tune. It caost me $400 to have shift kit, servo, and TC installed but its well worth the $

faceliftedss
if you get a transgo and servos you don't have to drop the tranny and you can go in through the valve body. so there is a do it yourself option out there too. for a lot less money, shop labor is expensive but worth it if you don't have the tech. skills or knowledge to do it. you will also need a pcm tune for the shift kit! go to zippy or revolution raceworks
josebrwn
you will also need a pcm tune for the shift kit! go to zippy or revolution raceworks Here's where I always get confused - knowing little. I already have a pcm tune (pcmforless). Shifts are pretty tight, esp. 1-2. If I went one of these routes - servos or kit - would I have to send for a new tune? Is there a handheld I could use and just do it myself? Could my mechanic just figure it out...?

Your shifts are tight from the tune firmong up your shifts. If you get a shiftkit they will have to retune your pcm to remove the shift firming prtion because the shift kit will give you incredibly hard shifts and with an increase in shift pressure it will break your trans in no time. As for a hand held it will be much cheaper just to let Bryan retune your pcm for $50. As for your mechanic fixing it I am not sure i guess if he has tuning software he maybe able to tune your truck for you but dunno.

Looks like Monday I'll be calling The Toy Shop to schedule a 'general beefing' of the trans (shift kit, servos, etc.) and to swap the TC. Hopefully I can get it done and the Outlaw CAI installed next week so, come Saturday, VanGordon & Brown (Scott Brown) can custom tune on his dyno next weekend. Geeze, what will I have to look forward to come Christmas?
