ssaman Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 I decided to paint my grill black because gray was getting pretty bland. so I took two hours to detach the grill from the front end and went crazy. At the end it came out awesome. Here are a few pics... Quote
pnblwzd Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Looks great, good job. I did this too, and think it looks remenicent of the old Chevelle/El Camino SS grilles being blacked out instead of gray like the regular models. Quote
cerbomark Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Much Better! Brings out the color better. Quote
tonyrome Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 I did mine also i think it looks awesome painted black Quote
03CHEV SS Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 How did you paint the grill with a gun or rattle can. Also what kind of black did you use flat, gloss. I've been thinking of doing that to and by the way it looks great. That for any info. to help me out here. Quote
ssaman Posted April 26, 2007 Author Report Posted April 26, 2007 I just used some flat black from a rattle can. Did about 3 coats and about 3 coats of clear. The only hard part is getting the grill off of the front end its attached to. the grill is set into the front end by about 15ish clamps sealed with melted plastic. I just used a soldering iron to break um loose. Take awhile but its waaaay better than trying to mask it off. Quote
