haul@ss Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I just noticed a puddle running from under my truck. As I took a closer look, I noticed that water or something was leaking from the bottom of the rear of the muffler... Any ideas? Quote

Several newer Chevys I have owned have done the same thing, it's a condensation vent to drain the muffler... Quote
H8R Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Mine does the saem thing... It's a machined hole... as said above....I could see it as being a problem later! Quote

If that hole wasn't there it would be a problem down the road......the condensation (byproduct of the cat) would rot out your muffler over time. The hole being there allows the water to drain extending the life of your muffler. Quote
H8R Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 True... But if anything does rust ..it will be that spot first! Quote
NoLegs Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) True... But if anything does rust ..it will be that spot first! Adding a big hole in the stock muffler could only IMPROVE performance. Second Chamber has literally 5 baffles in it: Edited May 3, 2007 by NoLegs (see edit history) Quote
