Ok.. I need to vent. I buy a new Speedstur from Gaylord, and the damn shipper lost the second box which contains all of the hardware. :banghead: So I call the shipping company and they do a search for the box and cant' find the damn thing. I call gaylord and explain the situation and they tell me a tracer needs to be done which could take up to 7 days. By this time im pissed royally :smash: . I said can't you just ship me out a new box of hardware until they track the other down? The guy tells me all of the hardware is on backorder. Every guy i talked to said the same damn thing.. Anyone have any thoughts? Ok done venting. Thanks for listening

now thats not very nice. your title on this thread kinda puts gaylord's down for something that isnt their fault. I've dealt with them on my lid, and it came in the first time with a nice big gouge in it. I contacted BSER, he contacted Gaylord's, and then gave me their number and I think Danny is the guy to talk to down there on shipping. Fed ex shipped the old lid back to Gaylord's and they sent me a new one in a super crate, so the lid wouldnt be damaged again. you shouldn't tarnish their name just because you're impacient :nono:

I'm not trying to tarnish their name. I'm only saying that they should just replace the 2nd box with hardware in it. Do you think the customer should suffer for a shipping error? And if i owned Gaylord, I would send the customer the replacement hardware right away and recover the other box later. How would you feel waiting 5 weeks for a product and have to wait another 2 weeks for replacement hardware? I don't think you'd be to happy. JMHO ..

and if you owned Gaylord, would you run out of hardware?:icon_bs:

I'll agree and say that Gaylord should replace that box ASAP. It isn't your or Gaylords fault it got lost, but you would think they would do whatever they can to make you happy. If they are out of the hardware, then I guess there is nothing they can do about it. You would think they wouldn't run out of such a thing. If I were you, I would contact Gaylords again and offer to pay for the hardware and see what happens, maybe they were lying about being out. If they do have it, purchase it and talk to a manager, tell him the story and see if you can get a refund when the box is found. If not, talk to someone higher in the chain or return the damn thing and get yourself a real lid like mine!

I had a similar situation where a retailer wouldn't help me with something I didn't like. I went to corporate and got what I wanted. Sometimes that is just what it takes!

On another note, I'm glad as hell I didn't go with a Gaylords! It seems like there is a thread about them every couple weeks.

I gotta say, I got mine through BSER and got an awesome deal and never had one ounce of a problem with it. Very happy!

I do hope everything works itself out for you though.

I also got my through BSER and he's been great.. I'm not blaming him at all. I'll just wait and see what happens. I just want to install the darn thing and I hate waiting. I might call and see if I can purchase the hardware from them and see what they say.

Hopefully things will workout sooner than later..

They should replace the hardware if they got it. I do understand their side though. Replacing stuff that gets lost can really add up for a business. Did they offer insurance when you paid for shipping? If they did insure everything then they need to replace whatever is lost for free. They will get their money back from the shipper. Who is the shipper? Hope it all works out.

I understand their side as well.. Today I even called Gaylord and offered to buy the hardware on my dime. The said all of their hinge hardware is on backorder. So again i'm *ucked. The original shipper was Daylight and they subbed it out to National. I'm trying to be patient.. but to be honest its not working :banghead:

Well that sucks. They should have their stuff in stock plus extras in case stuff like this happens. I'd ask them to give you some money back for having to wait so long for replacement parts. Any good company will take care of their customers. They didn't lose the package but they use the shipper so it all comes back to them plus they don't have any extra parts. Hopefully it will work out for you.

Just an update. They still haven't found my 2nd box and Gaylord has no estimated time for their hardware to be in. :banghead: . So i'm sitting on an awsome looking Lid, but can't install it. :icon_bs:
