drako Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) I have always liked the idea of the forum. You save time, money, and gain a wealth of knowledge by searching and discussing other peoples ideas and experiences. Both good and bad, and here is one that is great. A while back SS_Bnoon_SS had a karma give away; the item was one of his ported and polished TB's. I did not jump on it, since frankly well I thought it might be to indepth, ideling problems etc etc. Anyways a few months later I jump on the wagon and start to talk with SS_Bnoon_SS (who from now on I will call Brad) The guy was extremly helpful, and summed up great customer service in one sentance, "if you have any problems, I will make sure to help you through it" Now on to the product, it arrived within three days and was packaged nice and tight. It was cleaned up, smooth and ready to go. I decided to wait a few days when I have a bit more time. Install : Cake, if you can do a CAI you can do a TB, 4 screws (i think 10mm) two hoses (tb bypass) put back in rescrew and your done, should take you less then a half hour. Impressions? I would compare it to a Intake install, the throttle is more responsive, expecially off idle. It just takes off and something I noticed when I used to let off the gas the truck would slow down (I guess from the tb blade shutting) however now the slow down is much less. It coasts a lot more, I have experienced a minor jump in MPG in the highway also. All in all it probably added a couple of horsepower which is great cosnidering the investment. Oh the price? About $70 plus another $ 100 for a core. Send him back your stock one within thirty days and you will have your $100 back. This is one of the best bang for buck investments on the SS. http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...c=19529&hl= Pictures and comparison. I believe he ported it to 78mm which is very close to a $300 dollar 80mm tb! Edited May 3, 2007 by Drako (see edit history) Quote

JAMEST Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 I HAVE HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE SHANER TB? JAMEST Quote
SS_bnoon_SS Posted May 4, 2007 Report Posted May 4, 2007 http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...c=19529&hl=Pictures and comparison. I believe he ported it to 78mm which is very close to a $300 dollar 80mm tb! Just FYI, the stock TB blade and bore is 78mm, but the size of the bore after the blade necks down by several mm before entering the manifold. With that "neck" removed, along with the front half of the throttle blade being removed, the ported stock TB actually has MORE effective flow area than the aftermarket BBK 80mm TB. I still do them, one or two every other month or so for those members that can't or just don't want to do it themselves with the help of my how to linked above. Quote
