mungman Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 I went out today and got 15 bucks worth of gas then washed it (engine too ) and came home and it sat for a bit. Drove down the street, turned off the truck to return some movies. then went to another store BUT.... on the way there i was coming out of a round-a-bout stepped on it and NOTHING. the "Reduced engine power" came on. gave it another hit on the gas and again no response. it dropped to about 2000rpm and would accelerate normally. like it was idling and it would still shift gears. i pulled over and looked at everything. it seemed to be normal but running really rough. i took it home and asked dad what was going on and he had no idea. when it is neutral it stays at 1500 and wont rev up at all. i left it for 1/2 hour too see if anything would dry up but it still did it. i have no idea what is wrong and am open to ANY ideas. your help is much appreciated. mungman Posted May 7, 2007 Author Report Posted May 7, 2007 it starts and runs at about 500 rpm and tops out at 3000 rpm. i checked the battery and it reads 12.8 . i found some water on the wires to the tps, so i dried it out and still doesn't work. i don't have a tuner or anything but i will see what i come up with at work. thanks for the help pimpss. Big O Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 Reduced Engine Power Mode is a stage your PCM takes to protect your motor ... there is something wrong and it will not let you compromise your motor until it is fixed. I always steer clear of washing the engine bay at car washes ( scared of the situation you are in ) ... prefer the home steam clean ... Quote
Fireman31 Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 sounds like you got some electrical components wet when you washed the engine compartment, it might need some time to dry out...................... Quote

Krambo Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 sounds like you got some electrical components wet when you washed the engine compartment, it might need some time to dry out...................... I agree. Most of the REP issues are from a TB problem,...more often wet connections. Quote
