My Idling issues

Hey guys my idling issue is totally different from all the others that I have read and searched for thus far. So the issue is this.... every time I start my truck it wraps up to around 3 grand and hangs there for about 5 secs. then will slowly go back down to normal idling range 5-600ish. When I put it into drive and let off the brake it will start to accelerate up to around 1 grand and ill have to really get on the brakes hard to get it to stop and then the engine will go back to normal idle. When its up to hwy/freeway speeds and let off the gas the engine will hang at 2 grand untill i force it under 2 with my brakes. I took it to the dealership and they said it was due to an aftermarket performance part upgrade....? the only thing I have is e-fans and cai any help on this will be great, and if there is a previous post that I overlooked please point me to it.

Thanks

Brendan

If you have Drive-By-Wire (electronic throttle), I would guess that the controll module on the throttle body is on it's way out. If it's Drive-By-Cable, my guess would be your return spring is going (same result happened in my camaro and that was the problem), or your IAC is freaking out...

Good luck though, let us know what it turns out to be!

I bought my truck with the e-fans already installed and its Definitely an aftermarket install as I needed to clean up the wiring harness for them. My buddy took a look at it and said he thinks its the TPS as well, so we will see and thanks for the help guys.

Ok here it goes...I was going to clean up my throttle body and noticed that the bottom butterfly half was bent up allowing a 1/4" gap when closed...ahhh found my problem. So I searched arround and ended up purchasing a 80mm bbk. All is good, the new TB came in yesterday (friday) and as I was replacing the stock one I had to remove the stock motor and install it in the new bbk, looks easy but why would an aftermarket TB not come complete like I thought? The stock TB moved like junk and I didn't think the motor would be good, but tried to pull it anyways. well the throttle body motor puller that came with the kit pulled the motor out of its housing.....crap now its for sure junk :banghead: and now I have the bbk thats useless to me and also my stock TB thats useless to me. Ended up going down to the dealership and got another stock TB. Put it in and everything works fine, I'm glad that I can start driving it again but just pissed that I had purchased the bbk and now having to send it back because I don't want to ruin another throttle body motor. I read a topic on here last night that you need to drill a hole in the bottom of the stock throttle body in order to get the motor out and I'm not going to do that with my new one. But anyway thanks for the help guys and sry for the long post. Its good to have my truck back. :driving:

PS. What would have caused my butterfly valve to bend in the first place?
