SS Silv
My tranny has been acting up. Sometimes when I hit the gas the rpm's will go up like normal but right when it is about to shift, it doesn't and the rpm's will shoot up to around 5k. It doesn't do it all the time, but enough to make me nervous. I talked to a local transmission shop and they know about PCMforLESS, and the say that when they tune the pcm, they can adjust the pressure in the tranny and this might help it out (or something like that) I didn't fully understand what the explained. Is this true? Thanks
misterp
I think that sounds like the slip-of-death
packjh
mine did the same thing under wot, it would shoot to 6.25k. Turns out i had a leaky transmission cooler line and was losing alot of fluid. You could always check your fluid level.

SS Silv
So tuning the pcm for the tranny won't help at all?
.justin.
So tuning the pcm for the tranny won't help at all? Upped line pressure MIGHT be a temporary bandaid fix, but you should never look to fix mechanical problems with a tune... it's bad practice. SS Silv
Upped line pressure MIGHT be a temporary bandaid fix, but you should never look to fix mechanical problems with a tune... it's bad practice. I realize that. I know someday I will have to get a new tranny, but for the time being I might see what the tune can do. Also, this is another reason to get a tune
