BlackSS04
I just picked up my truck from the tranny shop and all i have to say is wow! This thing gets up and goes from a dig, and the shifts are hard as hell. with the tbtc, it revs alot higher and it makes my truck sound louder. and i didn't think that i would like the hard shifts, but i could definetly get used to this. i'm lovin it. The truck feels like a whole new beast. Great kit Zippy. Now on to the 160* stat and wheatley tune. SSThunder
No doubt the most noticable mods. I stalled mine up yesterday and turned all 4 tires over a little bit. Now that's fun. Wait till you add some FI to those mods.
BlackSS04
this may sound like a dumb question, but i've never stalled my truck up before. how do you do it?
Black2003SS
Put the truck in gear (D). Stand on the brake, and roll into the throttle and let the rpms go up until it feels like the truck is going to voercome the brakes, you should be able to get up to about 2500-2600rpms and still not move. Floor the accelerator and release your foot off of the brake at the same time. Some times it provides a better launch. Some may argue for or against it. When I do it, I run slower, I have found only brake standing or revving up to 1100-1200rpm's and then flooring works the best. All you really want to do is take up the slack/play in the driveline. Thanks for the response, i'll give it a try and see if i launch a little better. I do lauch hard as it is though. chpspecial
yup TBTC is nice, but a vigilante 3200 is great. I just finished going from the TBTC to the vigilante, and as soon as I get the p0785 code fixed, I will put up a little video of a 3200 7 PSI launch. BlackSS04
I just tried to brake stall it on my way home from the gym. It launched alot harder than when you just mash on the gas. I kind of wish you never told me that though, now i'm gunna get countless tickets because of it. damn you. vmax2fast
Notice any diff. in gas mileage? I'm about ready to get zippy's kit and am contemplating a tbtc.... just want to keep my truck as efficient as possible and still functional for everything else I use it for.... towing, off-road, romping through 2 feet of snow.... sure sounds like fun though!! I've just had it for a day, so i haven't been looking at the gas gauge much. I've been eyeing the MPH and RPM gauge like a hawk though. With my TBTC, around town I've seen about 1mpg less, interstate driving is unchanged because it's still a lockup converter. I just tried to brake stall it on my way home from the gym. Be careful with those "stall up" launches as they are harder on the tranny! Edited May 17, 2007 by SS_bnoon_SS (see edit history)
