torque converter question

Recommended Posts

My birthday is coming up and i am going to treat myself to a torque converter, anyone know of a good brand or model i should go with I really dont wanna spend more than $600???

A lot of guys like the YANK converters for that price range. I had good luck with TCI but if you can pony up an extra $400, I'd go with a Precision Industries. The lock-up is the best you can buy and I love mine! Good luck!

I am going to go with the yank truck thruster 3000, and the guy said it would be about $345.00 to install. I need to know if I'll live without a retuning my pcmforless with the yank tt3000 installed? because it is a pain in the ass. I also want to know what the hell a billet servo does, and is it worth buying? thanks for your feedback.

Talk to Mr. P or zippy about servos and shift kits. If they are pulling the trans, the least you could do is pick up a corvette servo and have them put that in. Zippy's kit is in the $200 range and I think it includes everything needed like servos, springs, directions, etc.

this is going to sound like a never n00bish question... but what exactly does a Torque converter do?

Seeing as how i'm about to do some tranny work.. i figured i should look into beefing mine up.. :)

Go to Yanks web site and read up on them... it's a very informative site. I also have purchased the Yank TT 2600, and it goes into the shop next week for the install & Vette servos. :driving:

also when i talked to the installation company they said i would have to furnish it myself so they wouldnt get blamed for something going wrong. what the hell does that mean?

and no i dont have an extra $200 for the zip kit, i want one but i cant, the pcmforless is going to suffice.
