I just recieved my tuned pcm core from wheatley, and i am trying to install it. I know were everything is and all, its just i cant get the wiring harness off of the PCM. you cant just manhandle it out of there, so how do you make it give way?

And also, is there a procedure to start your truck after you get the tune in? do you just start it and your good?

i dont remember it being hard to disconnect the pcm. ill check later as im putting my stock one in today for some in person tuning tonight. you may have to do the crank relearn procedure which zippy or someone else can explain better than i.

alright, i finally got the pcm core off. do i have to put those orange gaskets around the corners of the new pcm? i noticed they were around the stock pcm and i am not sure if i need them or not.

yes put them back they are seals to keep crap out off the pins

it seems that those gaskets dont fit properly around the edges. did you have the same problem?

i cant get the gaskets to stay down, the groves dont go deep enough.

yeah but after trying to put them on the pcm first i put them into the harness and then they seat themselves once you snug the bolts down.

i was thinking of doing that also. i'm going to try it now. thanks for the info.

There is a starting procedure where you try and start it and then leave the key on for 11 minutes and repeat 3 times and the third time it should staart if I remeber the procedure correctly.

That is correct.Thats how I did it when my truck didn't start after installing the new pcm.Third time vrooom...
