P0300 Code?

Recommended Posts

i would say give them a once over, see if they are rubbing on anything. I dont know what the conditions are for the code to get set, which might help understand how bad the wire need to be before they throw the code. Have you replaced your wire or plugs?? Does it run any different or stumble?? Have you gotten gas at a questionable station??

It is very humid here with all this rain so it might just be your wires??

Check engine has come on a couple times in the last 2 months but it goes back out in a day or so. Truck seems to be running fine. Get gas at the same place for the last year so I don't think that's it. Maybe I'll just put in some new wires and plugs and see what happens. Thanks Joe.

I can't see metal boot covers being the cause unless in some way it is keeping your wires from being seated all the way down on the plug.

Take your wires off one at a time and re-seat them. Feel for one click on the plug end and you should hear two clicks on the coil end. I would do that and go from there - unless it has been quite a while since plug/plug wires have been replaced.

my bet is a bad injector on cylinder 7. that code is a specific misfire on that cylinder.

hopefully it didnt wreck your cats too.

You talking about mine or zac2005ss?

Plugs and wires have never been replaced but I only have 25,000 miles on the truck. Of course most of my driving is city driving so maybe it's time for new ones already.

I guess they definitely were your problem then....must've been cool at night?

i went thru 4 sets of wires, including a new set of MSD wires from Frank. none of them solved my problem.

we removed the metal boots, and problem went away

if you get a p0307, thats specific to cylinder 7.. probably an injector.
