FireRescueSS
Well, just got back from taking the Silverado SS up to the Chevrolet dealer for repairs. It turns out to be an injector that went out. It will take a week for the parts to come in from Lansing, Michigan. Repairs will cost me nothing, and no service charge, due to it being under warranty, and if it wasn’t, I would do the repair myself, with an upgrade. I also managed to get a rental truck from Enterprise, also free of charge. The rental truck is a 2007 Silverado LT, 4x4 ext. cab with a 4.8L V8. Doesn’t hold anything to our trucks, but it’s better then having a car. The new Silverado’s have some nice features, my favorite so far is that the ext. cab side windows are power, instead of manual flip out. But I still want my truck back. Anyway, has any of you had an injector go out this quick? My SSS is an '04 with only 27K miles on it.

LSR Mike
...A week to get a stock injector? Yeah really, Lansing is a 6 hour drive... It should be in next day.... sheesh, I'm sure a dealer in Columbus has one.... What, the dealer is waiting for a truckload sale?
FireRescueSS
Yeah, I know, tell me about it. I really hated to deal with this dealership, but he's the only one in my near-by area. If the truck didn't suddenly give out like it did, I would have driven it else where, and a better dealership would have had me up and running within a few hours. Took this one 45 min - 1 hour just to put it on the computer and all.

detjoe
you should have given them the part number for the marine injectors...its a small boost but can support a few upgrades. keep us posted, but when I was at the dealer getting parts before the holiday, I got the cam swap kit in a day! just seems long

Fireman31
1 week for an injector is They have the ability to overnight one, but they won't because it is a warranty fix, and it will take a backseat to paying customers..........I speak from experience. In other words, they get to it when they get to it.
FireRescueSS
Just an update, the SSS been down for 9 days now, and the dealer has had it for the last 3 (They wouldn't look at it until after the holiday weekend) and I still don't got it back. FireRescueSS
Just letting everyone know, I just got the SSS back. Actually lost injectors #2 and #7, #7 was completely clogged with rust. They also replaced the fuel line from the tank to the fuel rail. Any suggestions as to how they got rust in the system? detjoe
my truck had a bunch of rust on the lines while I was swapping cams. The brake lines seemed like they would be rusted out in another three years...
