Code P0307

Recommended Posts

My name is Zac i'm new to the forum. Bought my SS in October of last year. Love the truck. Nothing can compare to it!! No troubles untill now. My engine light was Flashing now it is on steady. Went to Advance Auto and had them scan it and it came up P0307 Cylinder 7 Misfire detected? What can be causing this? I made a app. to the dealer for Thursday to check it and I don't want them to b/s me on this. I wanted to ask the experts first before the dealer trys to give me some lame excuse on it. If anyone can help me out I would appreciate. I love the forum!!!! Everyone has some nice trucks on here!! Keep it up.. Thanks

Plug wire, plug, coil, fuel injector.

Flashing SES always will mean misfire. Check your plug wire on cylinder 7 (driver's side all the way back). Check and make sure both ends are seated good. You should feel one click on your plug end and hear two clicks on the coil end. A good check of all of them won't hurt.

I like taking a pair of slip-joint pliars and move to the wider setting, put the plug end connector in and squeeze slightly. It will apply pressure all the way around and should evenly mash it in sligtly. The object is just to get it to sit on the plug more snug. Most come with wires that the plug end is a little on the big side. I have seen this fix mis-fire just from doing this.

I took off the metal sleeves and didn't fix it. I reconnected everything and still didn't work. Truck is at the dealer today so we will see what happens. I'll let you guys know what it is.
