MPG?

^ The guy in that article is an idiot. He's just going to cause someone else, if not more, to get in an accident by driving like a moron. He should just buy a bicycle and be done with it.

this topic has been brought up before. most would argue that if you are concerned about fuel mileage, you shouldn't have bought a sss. a tune will probably squeeze the most mileage out. im looking to buy another car here pretty soon since the truck has become my toy. an added daily driver will probably be everybody's best bet to save fuel/money.

i'm with wody, these trucks were made to be driven fast and not have great gas mileage, just bolting exhaust and CAI imo will make you just wanna drive it faster and more thus not increasing gas mileage

I just installed my ported TB from SS_bnoon_SS along with a K&N drop in filter and a few "modifications" to the stock airbox this past weekend.

I gained 2.6mpg average according to the dash. Now thats just from one tank of gas to another - normal driving conditions (some highway and my short 10 minute commutes to work) I'm sure it'll vary, but regardless, for a total of under $100 it was definately worth it. Just my $.02

Improved mpg means better efficiency, so for every drop of gas that is used, a larger percentage of that drop is converted into POWER which translates into motion and therefore distance.

I doubt anybody here would complain about more power.

Many things that improve mileage will also improve acceleration:

less weight - carbon fiber parts, lighter rims and tire combos.

less friction - synthetic lubrication.

less aero drag - bed cover, lowered suspension.

less engine air flow restriction - exhaust, cold air intake

I would get a daily driver IMO
