moog5050
I just bought a stock 03 SS and want to add horsepower. How is the first $1,500 best spent in modifications. I am not a mechanic, but reasonably handy. I suspect I may need to pay a shop to do most complicated modifications. Thoughts? Specific suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW - This is a great truck stock.

wody
for 1500 bones? for cam and heads you would need some supporting mods to begin with anyway.
drako
Built tranny...makes it easier in the long run and I wish I would have started there.
05VHO
I would do cam, long tubes, and cai, tune. Your trans should last till your next round of mods.
brobradh77
he said $1500. If you buy a good set of long tubes your looking at around $1200 if not more. As for a cam depending on what you get I woulld guess $350-500 plus install if he doesn't doit would be another $700-900 I would guess. Yeah great mods but he would be pushing his budget with that right off the bat. IMO
