ImpoSStor SS
Assuming your friends truck has a 4.8l V8, the 6.0l should be a direct bolt in, requiring only a re-tune. That's basically what I did with my RCSB, other than the T-56 conversion.
detjoe
yea Imposterss...that basically is all you did to that truck the top bolt on the trans is a PITA.
Black2003SS
the top bolt on the trans is a PITA. Not if they pull the old motor and trans out as one unit...which they should do(takes 20 minutes to disconnect the trans mounts/driveshaft/etc...Are you guys doing a complete denali AWD conversion as well? But yes it is a PITA in the truck...when I had my converter done, they went in from the bottom with a 4' long extension and one swivel on the socket...it was fun stuff...I was watching helping along the way. Holty
i found its alot easier with the front clip and the body off the frame when doing it lol
ImpoSStor SS
The way the core support bolts together on my 2004 the swap was very easy with the fenders and hood in place.
fordsareslow
the top bolt on the trans is a PITA. If you support the tranny with a jack and unbolt the crossmember, you can slowly let the jack down and the whole motor and tranny will tilt back at an angle making it VERY easy to get to the top bolt. ;)
detjoe
com'on guys...its one bolt! I was kind of joking. just stay organized and keep the extra bolt pile as small as possible. when I do bigger projects like this I usually use a tray that is divided to keep all the bolts together. Make sure you have a friend there and plenty of refreshments
