NashSS
Leaving work tonight I get on about a 6 mile part of the interstate to get into town on my way home. one of the guys i work with has a fatboy that he keeps talking about and wanted to run me so it just so happened that we left at the same time tonight and got on the interstate and i got up to him about 60mph and floored it and of course with a good tune from zippy my truck hit second and just barely started to pull from him and hit 3rd and we were about even till about 100. and then we slowed down and went again with the same results. It was fun and hes a good guy but i didnt catch him at a light to see what i do him in for from a stop but oh well it was still fun but i was expecting him to beat me but im not complaining and i know he was giving it all she had because he even topped her out rpm wise a couple times cuz i could hear it. packjh
Hmm my personal opinon is that your friend cant race a bike. My friend raced my on his new sportster....the slow chick bike..... 1/4 throttle and he left me in the dust. My other friend has a dyna street bob and i know better cause he keeps up with our friend who has a 636 for a few seconds. Racing bikes is for really really really fast cars. all they gotta do is drop a gear and full throttle and youll be see taillights before your foot his the floor. I think once you get over a hundred tho against a harley they are pretty weak. Friend said sportster doesnt go over 120 so start from there and race
Show Time
Your truck shouldn't be too far off a Fat Boy speed wise. I raced a co-workers 2006 H-D Road Glide with a big bore kit and a thunder header exhaust from a complete stop and we were dead even to eighty mph until I let off because the two lane road we were racing on was turning into a one lane and I didn't want to send him into the side of my truck or off into the weeds. I hit a great hole shot with little tire spin while my co-worker being a seasoned rider never missed a shift. I know if there was room to stretch it all the way out, he would have topped out at 120 or so while I would top out over 140. He was surprised I kept up with him and I was surprised he kept up with me. Bikes are fast compared to trucks and cars, but cruisers are the heaviest and slowest of the bunch. I'm not knocking them as I also own a Harley, but my BMW is faster.

I like cruiser/sport I love that vrod that thing has got tons of torque and seen a nice drag set up on on them that made me want one instantly....your truck is alot faster than mine i guess i could keep up with that sportster at all. NashSS
Come to find out its not a fat boy. Its a powerglide I guess or something like that. Im not big into bikes but i know its an 05 and really nice so i dunno but i wasnt expecting our race to be like that. The next day at work he was telling me has new respects for my truck now and he was giving it all she had because he topped the motor out on the limiter and we only hit about 110. EDIT: By what I mean topped out each time he shifted i heard it hit the limiter about once or twice so.......... hot rod truck
Nice bikes...both of them Is the H-D a Softail or a custom hardtail. Noticed it's lowered and got quite a few goodies on it. Beemer will probably be my next bike. Nash your buddy probably has a Dyna Superglide

Beemer will probably be my next bike. Nash your buddy probably has a Dyna Superglide The Harley is a 1989 FXST. That was a Softail before the Fat Boy and all the rest of the Softail line. The engine is 93 ci's and Dyno'd at 93 hp and 92.5 ft lbs of torque. It's pretty quick in the 1/4 mile, but it feels like your riding on the space shuttle. The BMW feels like your riding a sewing machine, smooth as silk. BMW's are pricey, but very nice. I also ride dirt bikes.
