04CHASE
well today i fixed the maro's little problems , it was throwing a 0327 code( knock sensor low voltage) so it was running very poorly. and i pulled the intake and replaced them today. Anywho after i finshed with that and a fatty sunburn i took the maro for a spin. im driving over a hill that has a few stop signs about 1.4 mile from each other with two lanes each way. i see an old guy in a brand new toyota matrix , fresh off the shor room floor with a little rice package. the funniest thing was this guy had to be at least 45-50 years old and he had the biggest tach mounted on the dash with a big ol shift light. i thought this must be his kids car or something and just kept cruising. so i get to a stop sign and he pulls up at the same time and nails it . at this point im like did this guy really just do that??? so i got on it a little ( spinning ires badly and passing him by 2nd gear) and stopping exactly at the speed limit ( 50mph) while he went by me with a smile like he won. i still cant get over the fact that this guy was that old with a big ass tach. only in so cal!! the camaro is running good again spinning hard through 2nd and even some in third. johnkoestler
That's ridiculous! When will these ricer's ever learn. A guy I work with was looking at buying a floor bar "to stiffen the frame (unibody)" I told him that he's not rear driven and should worry more about body roll. He only plans on making 200hp at the crank.
usabodyguard
speed is not just for youngsters bro... i know the oldest professional LICENSED NHRA driver in the world... his name is Ray and he is 86 years old and works for me part time as a security guard (mostly overnight parking lot shifts, but nonetheless)... you would never know he was a day past 60... his girlfriend is 52yrs old... lol... chase is going to turn in his SS and drive a volvo when he turns 30...lol
fxstsmith
Thats funny! I don't get too many old people wanting to race but when the misses drives the SSS every teenager in town wants to race.
04CHASE
shit you better beleive when im old i still be wanting to run em. but there is no way in hell youll catch me in a 4 banger. maybe an sti or evo but i dont think i could ever bring myself to that. ill be one of the first old guys with a vette that drives it like it should be driven!! unlike 99.9 % of the vette owners i see driving below the speed limit waving to people. BRAD
I had some crazy kids in a Xterra on the interstate outside of Knoxville Tn. wanting some of the SS. They kept speeding up and slowing down and looking over at me for about ten miles. I finally figured i would give them a taste of what the ol SS had to offer. I played with them till i got to about 95 then i punched it and watched them vanish in my rearview.

04CHASE
im not saying all old people are alos but yes most of them do drive and move slower than the average person below say 30 years old. just the fact that he had a matrix with a big ass tach and being older just struck me as funny. its not something you see everyday and this combo was just to funny imo.
