brobradh77
As i stated in another thread i am looking at wheels and I know they are 6-139.7mm or 6-5.5" but I do not know backspacing or if that is even important. So what exactly is it? Thanks
xlr82sxs
backspace is the distance from the mounting surface to the inside lip of the wheel. this measurement is closely related to offset (without actually measuring, backspacing is about equal to [wheel width / 2] + [offset] + [about 1/4] ) the easiest way to measure backspace is to lay the wheel face down on the ground so the backside of the wheel is facing up. take a straight edge and lay it diagonally across the inboard flange of the wheel. take a tape measure and measure the distance from where the straight edge contacts the inboard flange to the hub mounting pad of the wheel. this measurement is backspace. the above photo shows three wheels with 2",3", & 4" backspace. brobradh77
Thank ya sir and someone sugested I try and find a 7" backspacing for my wheels that i'm using for my drag radiuals. Is that a better idea than 4.5?
xlr82sxs
i'm not really sure, what size drag radials are you going with?

As far as a 7" backspace, that seems like it wouldn't fit in the wheel well. To get an idea of how far you can go, measure from the mounting surfacre of the axle to the inside of the wheel well. brobradh77
I want them to tuck so I will probably just stick with the 4.5 and as for the tires Zippy recommended this brand and I selected this tire after talking to one of their tec guys. http://www.mandhtires.com/store.php?crn=70...ion=show_detail
